Blogging Success: 20 Warning Signs Telling You That Your Content Sucks- Part I
Admit that you have ever wonderered…
You have been writing severally and have even gotten a few likes but you are not getting any good results or blogging success. The links have become hard to come by while traffic on the other hand is not coming in as you expected and the comments section in your site isn’t just happening.
Then you get these thoughts…..
Maybe you just need patience as you wait for your traffic to pick up and your blogging success to become reality.
Or is it possible that you content might really not be all that and prevent your blogging success? Does it suck (in so doing it breaks one of the rules of a copyblogger) and are people just trying to be nice in order for them not to hurt your already messed up feelings.
The hard truth is that there is no way to tell for sure.
What we are talking about here is about the quality is the main thing. One man’s meat is another mans poison and that is how it is.
Scale also matters unlike what happens in America’s got talent where 30 million people vote for you and transform just a mere musician into an international superstar through public consensus.
If you have just begun blogging, you can have less than a 100 readers who regularly read your work and in this group, 20 of them might be your family and friends. And on some real talk, your brother might not like everything you write regardless of how bad it is. That is the point.
So what happens now? Who do you listen to at this point in time to create your blogging success?
Actually, everybody and nobody at the same time. The disturbing thing about coming up with some things I that no one helps you to come up with it and yet people’s opinion indeed teach one on something that he did not know before.
There you have it, there are no rules, there are warnings however. If your content is not helpful or knowledgeable, you will get hints or telltale sings that something might actually be wrong.
Using the following signs, you can be able to tell whether you fall in any of the categories. The article however is divided into three parts which explain the many signs that many have ignored over time.
Part I has five signs while you can check out the rest in part II and III. Ensure you do just that because we are striving towards making you a great blogger.
1. You take so much confidence in your content.
This goes to say that you feel that the content you have posted up is good enough and if you had to rate it on a 1 to 10 scale you would give it a 6 or 7.
But the thing is, you cannot grade the content in your site on a scale. You would be either putting people to sleep or blowing their minds.
When you grade your content at 6 or 7, it will sure get a reaction as a 1 and it would be waste to have them published.
2. Your posts sound like a journal entry.
Not so long ago, a lot of people use to submit their journal entries online as blogs where people got to look at them for a few minutes. Nowadays, however blogs have become more important. They are more like magazines that you can find online which have highly polished content.
3. You are not getting any remarks on your posts.
Getting comments on one’s work is the best way to know how engaged your readers are with your work. If you have no remarks or comments yet you have a lot of subscribers, it simply means that they do not find your content as helpful.
In other words your content sucks.
4. Your visitors spend a very short time on your page.
In order to have blogging success, installing google analytics would help to know the amount of time your visitors spend on your web page.
Staying anything more than two minutes is a good sign while less than that…well, not good. With this you will be able to know that you are not doing so well and therefore need to do something.
5. When you spend less time when writing your posts.
Most people who have had blogging success spend more than 2 hours preparing for a particular blog although it is actually possible for one to come up with a blog within 15 minutes. Not all quickly prepared blogs turn out to be successful therefore you need to check on that.
Ensure you check out part II and III of this segment because it will really open up your “writing eyes and mind”.
